We believe it’s the responsibility of each individual and every organisation to actively reduce the impact on the environment. As such we have proactively introduced an Environment Policy that covers the following:
Utilise technology to reduce business travel
We have invested in phone and web conferencing technology and use this whenever possible to reduce travel to both intercity and interstate meetings, and subsequently reduce our travel-related carbon emissions.
Purchasing carbon offsets for business flights
Every business flight booked for Altis staff includes the purchase of carbon offsets.
Purchasing renewable GreenPower energy equivalent to 100% of the fossil fuel based energy we consume in each office. This equates to over 110,000kWh of renewable energy being added back to the grid each year.
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Policy
Each Altis office takes action locally to:
- Implement energy efficiency measures
- Reuse materials such as computer equipment, or donating functional equipment to charity
- Working with our landlords to provide improved recycling facilities
Getting our hands dirty
Each Altis office has a team social event every two months, which now incorporates tree planting as a major aspect.
We’ve also have an Altis ’Green Team’ to oversee the implementation of this policy at each local office.
