Change management is a key component in the successful adoption of business intelligence programs, and Altis is able to provide a number of training solutions to help ensure success. We have exclusive partnerships with Kimball University, Stephen Few, Ralph Hughes and SOA.com to deliver training programs in Australia and New Zealand, as well as providing a number of Altis designed courses, and supplying trainers for software vendors.
Training partners, exclusive to Altis
Our education business was introduced due to a frustration in the market around lack of trained resources, so we partnered with globally recognised market leaders and brought them to Australia. Prior to this, Australian people were unable to access these courses unless they traveled to the US or Europe, so we’re delighted to continue our exclusive partnership, and be able to offer them locally.
Ralph Kimball and the team from Kimball University are experts in data warehousing, specifically on dimensional modeling and how to extract data from source systems.
Stephen Few has published the top three books (on Amazon) on business intelligence user experience covering dashboards and analytics. These courses are extremely popular, and have helped organisations to achieve greater success with their business intelligence implementation.
Larry English is an expert on enterprise data quality, covering data warehouse and business intelligence, as well as how to successfully implement data quality processes across your company.
Ralph Hughes has written a book around the application of the agile methodology for data warehouse implementations.
Services Oriented Architecture School are leaders in how to use a services-oriented architecture as part of your data warehouse architecture, instead of traditional ETL processes. Organisations are increasingly after real time reporting, rather than reporting on historical information, and these courses provide best practice principles on access to real time data and the movement of data.

Additional Courses
We have developed our own course on Information Management Essentials that we license (and instruct) to the Australian National University. We also provide the course for organisations directly, or as part of our Project Delivery Framework when we commence projects, to provide a common vocabulary for IT and business team members within an organisation. Current courses are:
- Data Warehouse 101 (2-3 hours)
- Information Management Essentials (12-14 hours)
We also provide trainers on behalf of software partners, including Cognos and Hyperion
