Gavin and Hyun’s original vision was to build a business that was focused on customer and staff success. As the business grew they needed to formalise the core values of the organisation, so after a process of extensive research with staff, customers and prospects, they introduced “Connecting with Courage, Heart, and Insight” as a framework for the business.
In simple terms it meant a commitment to building strong relationships with our clients, and sharing the responsibility of delivering their outcomes. Here’s some further explanation to what it means to us.
Connecting
What makes us successful is our ability to build rapport with our customers and key stakeholders, which included our partners and staff, that ensure we deliver key outcomes.
So there is a huge part around relationship building as being a core part of our business, and that was achieved with courage, heart and insight.
Courage
There are two aspects to courage – internal and external. Internally, consultants are challenged on occasion, being thrown in the deep end to learn about something new, a new technology, a new industry or new type of project. When that happens it was important they feel comfortable and they can proactively connect with people for help and support.
Externally, staff needed the courage to challenge our clients in a constructive way. Clients would sometimes be more interested in the technology rather than the business outcomes, and we want them to speak up if the client is not spending time to get the business requirements right.
Heart
With such a strong emphasis on our staff, the heart revolves around the family element of the business. We genuinely care about what’s happening in people’s life outside of work, and we recognise that work affects life at home, and the reverse is also true. It’s part of the reason we hire people more for their Mojo, then their technical capability.
Insight
Innovation is important for every business, and that’s what insight is about. It’s part of the reason we’ve evolved from our beginnings as an implementation partner, to have a greater focus on designing and delivering tangible business results that drive competitive advantage. We want to provide our clients with insights about their organisation they didn’t know and help make them more successful.
